here, mothers are

mother, daughter, Nicole, Brittney

Yesterday, we spent our afternoon in the beautiful home of Nicole Lester and her daughter Brittney (shout out to King Class of ’11). They have a very close relationship and we had a wonderful time talking with them about a wide range of topics:

high school stories, Brittney’s first steps into college and Nicole’s challenging adjustment to an empty nest, becoming and not becoming your mother, their recently passed grandmother/great grandmother, their massive extended family, inheriting forgiveness

Here’s a hilarious piece of our conversation about Nicole’s grandmother’s wild outfit for going to the flea market:

Both Nicole and Brittney are writers, especially mom, and we’re very much looking forward to potentially seeing some of their writing on the blog soon.
