meeting Dorothy

We’d heard repeatedly in our conversations at the Dominican Center, “You should really get in touch with her — you need to meet Dorothy.”

Dorothy was our first living room interview of here, mothers are, and what a living room it was. With help from the Dominican Center, she purchased the home six years ago with her husband Algie, and since then, nearly every inch of it has been lovingly color-coordinated and meticulously assembled. Dorothy is a natural-born decorator.

After the grand tour, we sat down to talk. Dorothy was remarkably generous with the story of her life, with all of its turbulence, pain, and deliverance. She is a beautiful storyteller.
